Sample deliverables

Understand the estimate structure before you receive the file

Authentic public samples must be redacted and approved. No client-safe source files were supplied for this launch, so this page explains the real deliverable structure without fabricating project data, names, quantities, or prices.

Estimate workbook

A reviewable cost and quantity breakdown

The exact columns and tabs depend on the service and client template, but a complete estimate can separate scope in ways a single total cannot.

Estimate summary

Project basis, major totals, scope grouping, allowances, alternates, and commercial additions when included.

Detailed takeoff

Measured items, units, quantities, assemblies, locations, and drawing references appropriate to the assignment.

Basis and notes

Documents reviewed, pricing basis, assumptions, exclusions, qualifications, and open items.

Workbook fields

What to look for in a sample estimate

A useful sample should show how the estimator communicates scope and reviewability, not only polished formatting.

  • Project, location, drawing issue, and estimate date
  • Trade, CSI division, area, or bid-package organization
  • Description, unit, quantity, unit cost, and extension where applicable
  • Labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor separation when included
  • Allowances, alternates, taxes, freight, overhead, profit, escalation, and contingency as agreed
  • Assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, and unresolved questions

Marked-up drawings

A visual trail back to the source plans

When included in the quote, takeoff markups help reviewers locate measured scope, check inclusion, and reconcile revised documents.

Redaction standard

What must be removed before a real sample is published

  • Client and project names
  • Project address and identifying plan information
  • Confidential unit pricing and negotiated rates
  • Contact details and vendor quotations
  • Access links, credentials, and file metadata
  • Any document not approved for public use
