Project-specific fees

Estimating fees follow the scope - not an unexplained flat number

No accurate fee can be set from project value or square footage alone. We review the actual documents, requested trades, deliverables, and deadline before confirming the price.

Fee drivers

What affects an estimating quote

01

Project size and drawing volume

Sheet count, building area, repeated plans, details, and schedule density affect review and measurement time.

02

Requested scope and trades

A selected material takeoff differs from a coordinated multi-trade estimate with cost development.

03

Document stage and completeness

Conceptual, schematic, design-development, and construction-document sets require different methods and assumptions.

04

Deliverable detail

Marked-up plans, location breakdowns, bid forms, client templates, alternates, and reconciliation add defined work.

05

Deadline and current workload

A short bid window is assessed against the project complexity and available estimator capacity.

06

Revisions and addenda

The quote identifies the drawing baseline and how later document changes will be reviewed.

What to send

Get a useful quote with one complete request

A shareable plan link is best when the combined files exceed the 10 MB form limit.

  • Latest drawings, specifications, bid forms, and addenda
  • Project type, location, approximate size, and current design stage
  • Requested service, trades, alternates, and exclusions
  • Bid due date and the earlier delivery date your team needs
  • Required output: Excel, PDF, markups, or client template
  • Known labor rates, supplier quotes, or pricing instructions

Before work begins

The fee, scope, deliverables, and delivery date are confirmed in writing

Typical turnaround can be 12–24 hours, depending on project size, scope, complexity, plan completeness, and current workload. A quote request does not obligate you to proceed, and One Estimating does not publish invented starting prices that fail to reflect the documents.
